in my film class we watched this as a way to make sure that we weren’t creating characters that are just “body props” but rather fully developed complex, characters- no matter if they’re woman, men, a different race, part of the LGBT community, or however they might classify themselves.
this documentary touches on a lot of problems in society today and I highly encourage you to check this out if you have the chance. it’s on netflix and you can rent it from many other venues.
I don’t agree with everything said in this because it is very one sided and I do think that it’s not just the man’s fault. we, as woman, feed this problem only making it bigger. on the other hand, the media is a business, you have to do what’s right for your business in order to stay in business. but it definitely causes you to think about our society as a whole.
